Leadership Network Explores the Work of RVA Rising

What does it take to create a Richmond region where more people have the opportunity to thrive? That question was at the center of Warren Whitney’s Leadership Network featuring RVA Rising.

We welcomed Martha Shickle, Reggie Gordon, Sherrie Armstrong, and Traymanesha Lamy for a conversation about the initiative, the challenges facing our region, and the role collaboration can play in creating greater economic opportunity.

RVA Rising is a regional initiative focused on economic mobility and long-term prosperity. Its work centers on five connected areas: inclusive neighborhoods, rewarding work, quality education, access to health care, and responsive governance. The panel gave our guests a closer look at the thinking behind the initiative and why challenges of this scale cannot be addressed by one organization alone.

For more than 35 years, Warren Whitney has used Leadership Network to bring together business owners, executives, nonprofit leaders, clients, referral partners, and other friends of the firm. The goal is simple: make space for good conversation, new connections, and a better understanding of what is happening across the Richmond region. There was plenty of conversation in the room.
