Helen Dow is a Director of Warren Whitney with more than 30 years of experience helping companies improve their financial performance and enhance all finance and accounting functions. She works with clients on overseeing financial analysis, improving operational efficiencies, and system implementation. Helen generally serves Warren Whitney’s clients in the role of fractional CFO or Controller. She brings perspective from working in both the nonprofit and private sectors.

Before joining Warren Whitney, Helen was the Chief Financial and Administrative Officer at Goodwill of Central and Coastal Virginia (GCCVA). During her 12-year tenure with Goodwill, she provided financial leadership and fiscal stewardship and guided the organization during expansive growth; GCCVA doubled revenues to $80 million. Helen spearheaded a debt restructuring initiative of refinancing several balloon loans. This preserved cash by $21 million, stabilized debt service and reduced interest costs by locking in historically low-interest rates.
Helen also worked at a privately owned company, where she increased their capacity to obtain government contracts that require completion insurance from $250,000 to $20 million. During her time with a Fortune 200 retailer, she managed their budgeting cycle and performance analysis of $10 billion in sales and related margins. Her career began in public accounting, where she specialized in small to medium nonprofits and startup organizations. She has consistent results fostering financial stability and growth.
